Shield recommendation? - Guild Wars Forums

I'm hating my current shield. Any recommendations ot match with my black Elite Canthan armor, and red shining blade uniform?
This is my warrior:

I really do hate that shield.. But the recommendation must be anything but the Destroyer shield. Preferably, something affordable.

Maybe Magmas
Black dyed Outcast
Black Bladed

Just some ideas to think about. More suited for that armor then the uniform though

Suggestion: Dont go with black armor... really limits wat you can look good in, and most of the time it looks ridiculous imo.

As to answer your question, Gloom, & Magmas, or a Darkwing (Except Str Darkwings are reasonably pricey) are probably best options. Check out the shield gallery on wiki for a shield that looks nice and then go with that.

The first thing I'd try is a red Shield of the Lion (str only, or get tac version from BMP.)

Shadow Shields (str or tac) are black, and the eyes change color with dye. Maybe you could get a mix of reds and oranges to match your color scheme there?

Kournan Defenders (str only) or Norn Shields (str or tac) might give you some good options to match the red.

You can get all sorts of interesting colors mixing dyes on Crude Shields (tac only,) but it's a single color shield.

All are available with insc. slots now, and I think any of them would be easy to buy for 50k or less (maybe much less) in r9 insc gold versions.

If you have or want to get BMP, an Undead Shield might be interesting.

An Ornate Shield dyed red or some reddish mix might work really well, but that skin does not come inscribable. And a decent stat'ed one is likely not anywhere near cheap or easy to find for sale.

And since I'm coming up with all these suggestions from here anyway, check out wiki's shield gallery (note not every shield shown is available in every attribute.)

None. Samurai only very rarely used shields, and certainly not often enough to have a definite style (after all, they were mainly horse archers and used a 2-handed sword).

Something that matches their armor would likely have a woven or banded look and be rather ornate.
